“We relocated from the DC area to Chicago in July of 2020. We purchased a home that needed quite a bit of upgrading in March, and we were referred to Jeff by our realtor. Our realtor raved about Jeff’s services - specifically how he has the mind and vision of a designer, but all of the practical experience of a general contractor - and boy was he right! Because we were still in DC during the planning and construction, we had to work with Jeff mostly remotely, with strict limitations on travel due to covid. Naturally this made us a bit nervous, but Jeff did an amazing job from start to finish of alleviating those concerns. We could not have picked a better designer / general contractor for this job! We did our design sessions over zoom with his 3D modeling software, and we were able to take our time to get it just how we wanted, with Jeff demonstrating an amazing professional ability to help us achieve our vision while working within the constraints of our home, budget, and building code (all while navigating some tricky marital communication between me and my wife! :)). During the build, he kept us fully abreast of everything that was happening, including unexpected changes that came up (as with any build), helping us to make good decisions and trade-offs due to our time and budget constraints. They finished on time, and while we were a bit above our original budget, we made those decisions ourselves midstream and did not feel forced into them. The most important part.. we LOVE our new home! And I could not imagine having something half as good straight off the market, or working with another separate design firm and independent GC to achieve this result.
